What’s to come

I have an exceptionally vivid dream-life, full of people I don’t know, situations I’ve never been in, and places I’ve never seen. I’ve decided to start keeping record, as best as I can, of the greatest hits, so to speak.

This might sound boring right now, but give it a bit. Some of my recent dreams involved

  • gnome-like creatures being marched in chains by a group of skeletal insects in armor through a towering mountain-range of weathered, elaborate fortresses and temples carved into the living rock (very Lovecraftian);
  • a hodge-podge family of (non-blood-related) wizards- how did I know they were wizards? it’s a dream- living in perpetual twilight in a vast maze of interconnected halls and factory-buildings in rural Kansas, ruled over by a loving, mother-earth hippie witch with curly red hair and a poncho;
  • and the only nightmare I can recall for years that made me glad to be awake, in which my brother and his wife (as well as 15 other people, according to a strange and graphic newscast segment that featured paramedics checking my bloodied brother’s pupils with a flashlight; several young children also escaped the melee by hiding elsewhere on the same boat) were gunned down on a boat moored in a marina while I was on another moored boat, miles away and unable to contact them.

I don’t intend to self-analyze endlessly, nor do I intend to put some kind of mystical, magical spin to any of them. As I dream vividly almost every night, I intend merely to use this space to describe what I remember, in as vivid detail as I can.

If you’re looking for sexy, steamy slash-fic-style dreams, look elsewhere. I seldom have dreams of that nature, and that’s not really the focus of this dream-journal. There are plenty of other sites that cater to that kind of thing; I’m sure they’d be happy to gain your readership. These may also be short, and not necessarily in narrative form, as anybody who has ever dreamed could imagine… though I do tend to have rather story-structured dreams complete with set- and wardrobe-changes, and loads of extras. Some even feature recognizable actors playing roles, for some reason.

All that being said, I’m sure I’ll have something posted here soon. Stay tuned.
